IOP High Energy Particle Physics Group

The High Energy Particle Physics Group welcomes all members of the Institute to its web pages and invites them to become a member of the Group.

Our activities focus on a number of half-day meetings each year on topics that are suggested by group members, and an annual three or four-day conference, often held jointly with other related IOP groups. The committee helps organise these and also works to represent the group members as we engage with the IOP and external bodies.

A particular feature of the annual conferences is the opportunity for all third-year PhD students to present their work in a conference presentation, and for PhD students in general to contribute to a poster session where prizes are on offer for the best posters. There are also plenary sessions with talks which cover the full range of particle physics research, given by researchers from across the UK as well as international speakers.
